As we discussed during the receptions, we were hoping to start the renovation this summer, but felt that more likely it would in 2010. Because of your support, we will be able to begin the renovations to our school in late May and finish before the new school year begins. Work will include new windows, bringing the fire system up to code and re-carpeting the hallways.
First of all, thank you for the amazing financial and volunteer support that so many of you have given to this project. In just a few short months, your campaign received over $1.97 million in pledges and has collected $664,000 toward our goal of $2.5 million, for the renovations to the church and school. This progress, especially inspiring in light of weak economic conditions, is evidence of our faith in our God, our parish and each other as a Holy Family.

Completing the school portion of the project this summer will do several things for our parish:
· It will limit increases in construction costs by locking in prices now.
· The new windows will save on A/C costs which is particularly helpful now that we have a 25% increase in power bills, and
· The school will be ready for use during the church renovation, which we are hoping will start in the summer of 2010, assuming the payments from your pledge commitments keeping coming in and the Diocese is willing to support the necessary financing.
We hope that you are all excited to see the first part of this project ready to go so soon, as your money is put to work exactly as promised. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
Hi Walter,
Thank you so much for your question. Sorry I didn’t respond earlier, I have been having trouble with my internet connection.
Our top goal is $2.5 million, but we realize that we may not reach that goal in direct pledges. The planning, liturgical, steering and construction committees are working very closely with the architects and construction company to monitor how much we can expect to need and what accommodations we may need to make depending on funding levels. We have contingency plans with the Diocese to aquire a loan for the balance, if necessary, and hope to be able to secure that next year. In the meantime, we are hopeful that pledges will continue and feel that our parish has been very blessed with strong participation.
I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if there is additional information I can provide.
